odyssea cfs500 Review
First review Bare with me
Ive had the 500 set up for a few months now and no problems. Good water output for a small canister and price. I would make a drip tray to spread water more evenly over pad. The way it is design it just dump water down intake and nothing to spread water evenly over filter pad. Intake from pump isnt located on bottom or side of pump but on top[b]. I use pcv pipes and elbow to make a intake from pump to bottom of canister, a rubber o ring to fit pvc tight to intake of pump. Over all I recommend this Canister and its a good product for price compared of Other brands. Do remember its a Made in China knock off so dont get mad when you buy a bad one and it Sh*ts out in you. I would Load it with Media and let it Flow.
Canister uses 3 or so Layer of Foam Pads for filtration and Bio Media, I myself remove one foam and replace with Ceramic rings for a little extra Media. Had it running in My 55g to build up bacteria and it cleaned and cleared my55 in 2 days. Crystal clear. Hose and connecter valves are similar to that of a FX5 but I have read issues with leakage so do inspect after use. Valves are not easily taken off lids but not a real issue for me but I do advise you be careful and not horse it off. Lid is held in place by screws with knobs to tighten. after rinsing off foam pads place in canister by order shown in Box, fill canister with water to top of canister. Plug in hoses and flip on build in on off switch and canister should prime itself or just switch off when canister and blowing bubbles out of output hose. it will siphon water back from output hoses and your ready to go. Keep yall posted
