2012 Meeting Schedule

Info for the Meetings:

The Sacramento Aquarium Society meets at 7 PM on the first Saturday of each month. Meetings typically include a guest speaker, bowl show, raffle, attendance prize, and an auction which includes fish, aquatic plants, and aquarium supplies. Many of the auction items go for less than wholesale prices.

Program: UC Davis' Dr. Peter Wainwright - "The Incredible DIversity of Fish Feeding Mechanisms on Coral Reefs"
Dr. Peter Wainwright

Peter earned his PhD in 1988 from Univ. of Chicago and was a faculty member at Florida State Univ for 7 years before coming to UC Davis in 1999, where he is now Chair of the Department of Evolution & Ecology. He studies the evolution and biomechanics of fish feeding systems and over the years has worked on sunfishes, cichlids, wrasses, parrotfish, moray eels, butterflyfish, triggerfish, and pufferfish.

This months meeting is featuring Tom Barr. He will be speaking on "The great divide: CO2 gas or not?"
mainly speaking on planted tanks. sounds like it is going to be pretty epic. everyone should come check it out

I would be coming but the onlything is for me i have way tomuch school right now with midturms coming for me. so if you can see if you can get a few notes for me.
