thefishhub is a national distributor of the aquatop brand and a local store in SLC. Thier site can be found here http://www.thefishhub.com/Store/Default.aspx
I decided i really wanted a high turnover rate filter with a uv light for a nice sparkling tanganyika tank. Stopped by thefishhub and they suggested the cf series. I was hesitant at first because of Kim's post earlier. You can read that here http://aquaticutah.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=747
Anyways I ended getting the CF500uv canister filter. It so happened to be the same filter Kim had for her bad review. I noticed some concerns with this filter had been that it is supposed to be packaged with media. Here is a picture of the side of the box with its contents listed. No filter media is included except sponge pads.
Opened the box and here it is.
Connected all the tubing for the spray bar and intake tube. Trimmed the green tubing and connected to the canister filter. Pressed the big primer button, its a big sturdy filter and it can handle some weight being put into it. You can see and hear the siphon going. Once the canister was filled i plugged it and and it runs beautifully. No leaks whatsoever. It was very simple to set up and get going. It has been running on my 55gal for about 8 hours now and actually forgot it was running because it is so dang quiet.
Here is the picture of it running on my tank.
My review A++ Aquatop is nothing to be feared and one of the best canisters for the price in my opinion. Perfect product and thanks for the suggestion Fishhub.
Stats on the Cf500uv

i have actually heard very good things about the Odyssea canisters. i was lloking at the 500 without a uv bulb
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Odyssea-CFS-500-GPH-Canister-Filter-External-Aquarium-/300587878853?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45fc6f09c5
the price without the UV is silly. 60$ including shipping. so cheap. its supposed to be a knockoff fx5 and i havent heard anything bad about them. my only concern is that it says plug and play but i see no primer button. so i dont know if you would have to self prime it or not. i was looking into that one for a while.

there is a pump inside the lid of the canister. so how it works is you get a syphon on the hoses and then you plug the power in and the pump just runs until you unplug the unit. the canister comes with everything you need except filter media such as bioballs or rings, and carbon packs.

I have a 500 no self prime. after I fill it up all I do is turn it on for a minute and switch off. Water siphons back from output and bang your good to go. I wouldnt compare it to a FX5 bc of smaller size, maybe a fuval405
